Nevada Scores Poorly In Health Emergency Rankings

Nevada scored in the bottom ranking of states that are prepared for health emergencies.

In a study conducted by the Trust for America’s Health, Nevada achieved only 3 of the 10 indicators on preparedness.

Indicators included things like flu vaccination rates, paid sick leave and public health accreditation.

The three indicators Nevada did have include 70 percent of hospitals meeting the antibiotic stewardship program requirements, availability of public health labs and the state has a biosafety professional.
