14-Year-Old Chaparral High Student Stabbed While At School

Las Vegas police say a 14-year-old girl was stabbed multiple times in the chest during a fight Tuesday morning with another female student at Chaparral High School.

The Clark County School District said the girl is expected to recover and was admitted to the hospital for observation. The other girl involved in the fight was 16 years old and is expected to face a count of battery with a weapon causing substantial bodily harm, but she is also expected to be charged as a juvenile.

The fight happened around 10:30 a.m. and did not appear to be gang-related.

This incident comes less than three weeks after three other students were arrested and a police officer injured during two fights at Chaparral High School.
