Power Outage Disrupts Schools Near Pecos, Flamingo Roads

Chaparral High and George Harris Elementary students were sent home Thursday morning after a power outage left the schools without air conditioning in the midst of an excessive heat warning in the Las Vegas valley.

More than 1,100 NV Energy customers lost power around 7:30 a.m. in the area around Pecos and Flamingo roads. Power was restored around noon.
