After six years of unsuccessful contract negotiations, Allegiant Air flight attendants picketed at McCarran International Airport Wednesday, along with some pilots who joined in support.
Transport Workers Union of America Local 577 represents the flight attendants. Union representative Rey Chapparo says the industry average wage for flight attendants is $50 per hour or more, while the highest-paid Las Vegas-based attendants make only $34 per hour.
Chapparo told the Las Vegas Review-Journal he has been a flight attendant with Allegiant for over a decade, and local flight attendants haven’t seen a raise that entire time
