Gov. Sandoval Nears Record Number Of Vetoes

In Nevada’s 2017 legislative session, Governor Brian Sandoval came close to the highest number of vetoed bills in state history.

The Las Vegas Sun reports Gov. Sandoval’s 41-bill veto count this session is second only to the 2009 session’s 48 vetoes by Governor Jim Gibbons.

According to state records dating back to 1899, Sandoval governed over two of the five most veto-heavy sessions. However, the Republican governor, working with a Democrat-controlled legislature this year, also signed 608 measures – it’s the most legislation he’s approved in one session.

How is Las Vegas' healthcare system really doing, and what does it mean for you and your family? Desert Companion's Health Issue takes a deep dive into these questions and explores how heart-centered business leaders prove that doing good benefits the bottom line.
