LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Las Vegas police officer had been bitten by a pit bill during a foot pursuit Wednesday.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reportsthe officer suffered minor injuries and medical personnel had been called to the scene.
It's unclear why the officer had been chasing the person.
Metropolitan Police Department Lt. C.J. Jenkins says several other officers were on scene at the time of the incident.
It had been unclear what happened to the dog or whether the animal belonged to the person police were pursuing.
Jenkins says no shots had been fired.
