Hiker Becomes Trapped At Keyhole Canyon

Officials say a hiker became trapped in a canyon about 40 miles south of Las Vegas.

The Review-Journal reports that Las Vegas police Lt. Grant Rogers say reports came in about a missing or trapped hiker in Keyhole Canyon just after 4 p.m. Sunday. The Search and Rescue unit responded and was working to free the man Sunday night.

Rogers says the man was trapped by ropes near a dried-out waterfall.

Keyhole Canyon is about halfway between Boulder City and Searchlight in southern Clark County.
