In the past year, Clark County has collected more than $3 million in fees from the ride sharing services Lyft and Uber.
The Las Vegas Sun reports that the county charges licensing fees for each driver and a small fee for every airport ride, which has added up to the large sum.
Both Lyft and Uber launched Sept. 15, 2015, in Las Vegas and initially ignored requests by county officials that they remain inactive until licensing was worked out.
Launching without the county's blessing sparked a months-long skirmish over licensing and fees.
That clash was ultimately settled and now Uber boasts about 11,000 drivers statewide, eclipsing the number of cab drivers in Clark County.
