LAS VEGAS (AP) — A mixed martial artist, a former major league baseball player, the 1998 UNLV golf team and a former state athletic commissioner-turned-political kingmaker are being inducted into the Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame in Las Vegas.

Fighter Frank Mir, former Rookie of the Year outfielder and Las Vegas resident Marty Cordova, the 1998 NCAA champion golf team, and Sig Rogich, a prominent communications firm owner, will be enshrined Friday.

Longtime UNLV sports announcer Dick Calvert will emcee the event at the Orleans Arena.
