Focus On Nevada Photo Contest
Much has changed since last summer. But you, the community, and your dedication to the Focus on Nevada Photo Contest have remained a constant. And we've got receipts to back us up here: You made 876 total submissions, including more than 3,800 snapshots of Nevada. Some entries came from as far away as Alaska and New York. Round of applause!
It was hard whittling all this down to only 32 winners and honorable mentions. But “hard” doesn’t mean uninteresting, or even unenjoyable. Seeing photo after photo of our state was a heartening reminder, and a showcase, of our state’s stunning diversity — culturally, demographically, ecologically, and more. Stepping into a year when diversity feels threatened — or, at the least, taboo — we hope these photos spark a sense of solidarity with the many communities represented, from urban to rural, well-worn to pristine, and everything in between. Thank you to everyone who contributed, and here’s to finding togetherness through the arts! — Anne Davis & Kristen DeSilva
