Raiders Owner: $750M Public Stadium Funds Is 'Bottom Line'

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis says a $750 million public contribution toward a stadium is "the bottom line" on whether the team makes Las Vegas its new home.

The Las Vegas Sun reports Davis made the comments Friday night at the Silverton casino in Las Vegas, while in town for Mike Ditka's Gridiron Greats Hall of Fame weekend.

The Raiders want to move because Oakland hasn't made significant progress toward building a new stadium. The Las Vegas Sands casino company owned by billionaire Sheldon Adelson is championing a domed Las Vegas stadium costing more than $1.4 billion.

The controversial proposal calls for at least $750 million in public financing, likely from a hotel or car rental tax.

Davis says the team and stadium would bring pride to Las Vegas.
