Las Vegas Police Seek SUV, Assailants In Security Guard Slaying

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police and family members of a security guard killed at an apartment building construction site are asking for help to find the assailant and a distinctive SUV seen in the area of the shooting five weeks ago.

Police Lt. Dan McGrath said Wednesday that a red or orange Chevrolet Avalanche or Cadillac Escalade EXT was seen near where 48-year-old Mark Steven Santee was found dead early April 27.

Detectives think the married father of three was shot several times after confronting one or more people looting items from the site off the 215 Beltway near Russell Road.

The vehicle was seen on surveillance video driving south on Hacienda Avenue near Jerry Tarkanian Way.

Police say no suspects have been identified.
