Gov. Brian Sandoval has appointed a Wells Fargo executive to fill a vacancy on the Nevada Gaming Commission.
Sandoval announced Thursday that Debbie Fuetsch will take the seat previously held by Michonne Ascuaga, who resigned in February. The Sparks Nugget casino that had long been under the Ascuaga family's control was fined $1 million this spring for violating federal anti-money laundering regulations.
Fuetsch is a senior vice president at Wells Fargo and manages the company's commercial banking portfolio. Sandoval said her banking compliance background will be an asset to the commission, which regulates the state's casinos.
Her term takes effect May 1 and will last through April 27, 2017.
The governor also announced he was reappointing Dr. Tony Alamo as chairman of the commission for another four-year term.
