Unemployment rates have inched up in Nevada's three main metropolitan areas, although officials say the state's main industries are all adding jobs.
The state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reported Tuesday that Las Vegas' jobless rate rose to 6 percent in March. That's up slightly from February but down 1.2 percentage points from a year ago.
The rate rose to 5.5 percent in the Reno area, and ticked up to 6.8 percent in Carson City.
Regional unemployment rates are not seasonally adjusted.
The news comes a week after the agency reported that Nevada's overall jobless rate fell to 5.8 percent. That rate is seasonally adjusted.
State economist Bill Anderson said Nevada's economy is still faring well in spite of month-to-month volatility in the different regions of the state.
