Employment Office Warns Of Phishing Scam

Nevada’s Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation is warning of a phishing scam using the office's name.

An email with the subject line "Important Notice (Urgent Response Required) is going to employers and unemployed workers applying for unemployment benefits.

The e-mail says there was a problem with sending out benefits and asks the recipient to respond. It’s signed “DETR, State of Nevada, U.S.A” and comes from "notificationalert@ui.nv.gov," which is not an official DETR email address.

The department is warning it did not send out the email.

The email is from fraudsters looking to collect personal financial information. The employment office is telling people not to respond to the email.
