Jeremy Johnson To Be Jailed Pending Sentencing

A Utah businessman who was a key figure in a scandal that ensnared two former state attorneys general will be jailed until he is sentenced for lying to banks.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports a federal judge in Salt Lake City ruled Friday that 40-year-old Jeremy Johnson is a flight risk and ordered him to jail until a June 20 sentencing.

Johnson was convicted on a handful of charges last week but cleared of dozens of fraud and money laundering charges. He was arrested five years ago with thousands in cash and a plane ticket to Central America.
