Angels Landing in Zion National Park to reopen after brief closure

AP Photo

The popular Angels Landing trail in Zion National Park has reopened after a brief closure.

The trail was closed on June 5 due to damage to the chain section of the trail, according to the southern Utah park.

"The park trail crew is finishing work to reattach a rock anchor that supports the trail chain, assess the rest of the trail, clean graffiti, and remove trash," a statement from the park said.

A permit is needed for the Angels Landing trial. The permits were implemented in April in response to concerns of crowding and congestion on the trail.
