UNLV Freshman Jones Jr. Ineligible For Rest Of The Season

UNLV freshman Derrick Jones Jr. is ineligible for the rest of the season after his standardized score was deemed invalid.

The NCAA in the fall declared Jones eligible to compete this season, but was notified by ACT Testing that his test score had been canceled.

The school said it is reviewing the matter and its options with various governing bodies.

Jones was the Runnin' Rebels' second-leading scorer at 11.5 points per game and grabbed 4.5 rebounds per game.

UNLV already lost Ben Carter to a torn ACL and Dwayne Morgan is out with a separated right shoulder.
