Cedar City Seeks Grant For Airport Improvements

Cedar City, Utah is seeking federal money to improve its airport.

The St. George Spectrum reports the airport and city officials are filling out a grant application to seek $1 million in upgrades.

City officials say the monies would be used for improving the ramp carrier SkyWest uses for the only commercial flights in and out of Cedar City.

Other money would be used to improve the asphalt on the airport's runway, and to repaint the airport's taxiway to make its markings more visible.

Officials say they're hopeful the grant will be approved, and that work on the airport's improvements could begin by the end of August.
