Google Images/Wikipedia

Las Vegas Boulevard will be completely closed to traffic starting at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31 for New Year's Eve festivities.

Traffic on New Years Eve in Las Vegas can get a bit tricky.

To avoid a headache and to save time, plan ahead by knowing which roads will be closed and which will be open near the Las Vegas Strip.

Roads that will be closed near the strip starting at 5 p.m. include:

  • Las Vegas Blvd. from Hacienda Ave. to Sahara Ave.
  • Tropicana Ave. between Interstate 15 and Koval Lane
  • Harmon Ave. between Interstate 15 and Koval Lane
  • Flamingo Road between Interstate 15 and Koval Lane
  • Spring Mountain Road/Sands Ave. between Interstate 15 and Koval Lane

The 215 Beltway will remain open, but some of the ramps leading to the strip will also close.
For those headed to the Fremont St. Experience, note that the canopy will close from 4 to 6 p.m. to the public to prepare for the evening.
