Defense Attorney Faces Charges Of Submitting False Court Docs

A Las Vegas criminal defense attorney is due in court Wednesday to face on criminal charges that she submitted phony court documents showing clients completed required counseling and community service in misdemeanor cases.

Attorney Vicki Greco's lawyer, Gary Modafferi, said Tuesday she'll plead not guilty and plans to fight the charges contained in a 138-criminal indictment filed against her last week.

The 43-year-old Greco has been a member of the Nevada bar since September 2003.

Prosecutors say investigators found false documents had been submitted in more than 40 of Greco's cases, mostly involving prostitution and trespassing charges.

The investigation is tied to a criminal case against suspended defense lawyer Brian Bloomfield.

He pleaded guilty in December 2013 to similar charges and awaits sentencing.
