Prisoners Escape From Boot Camp, Steal Car

Authorities say two prisoners have stolen a correctional officer's car in their escape from a boot camp program.

The Nevada Department of Corrections said 18-year-old Shane Perez-Vallestro and 23-year-old Marvin Baldridge were last seen at 4 a.m. Wednesday at Three Lakes Valley Boot Camp near the Southern Desert Correctional Center, north of Las Vegas.

They were discovered missing about 20 minutes later and authorities also say the men stole a brown 2013 Nissan Altima assigned to an officer.

Both men were in the diversionary boot camp program designed for first-time felony convictions.

Those who complete the 190-day punishment are then moved to probation instead of prison.

Perez-Vallestro entered the program in July after an attempted home invasion conviction.

Baldridge, convicted of obtaining and using personal identifying information, started in September.
