NV Energy Warns Of Vandalism-Caused Electricity Cutoffs In Spring Creek

NV Energy alleges trespassers in northern Nevada are cutting off power to people's homes.

The Elko Daily Free Press reports power was cut to many homes in Spring Creek, a suburb of Elko, over the weekend.

Some consumers who lost power included those using oxygen, who need to have uninterrupted electricity to power their air supplies.

NV Energy says customers should check first if power is out at their breakers, and then if it is out for neighbors as well. The utilitys sayd because breakers and meters in Spring Creek are near street-level, they are easy targets.

Affected customers should contact the police if their homes have been targeted.
