LAS VEGAS (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Martin O'Malley is wooing voters in Nevada before the first Democratic debate next week with a campaign stop in Las Vegas.
The Las Vegas Sun reports that O'Malley met with the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 on Monday. While there he was critical of the Republican Party’s stance on immigration and portions of President Barack Obama's health care law. He also criticized the Trans Pacific Partnership and the nation's finance industry.
O'Malley told union members he used to keep a 1890s-era sign that read "No Irish need apply" on his desk when he was governor as a reminder that everyone was once an immigrant.
He is scheduled to appear at the Hispanics in Politics breakfast Tuesday morning.
