Tom Collins Announces Resignation From County Commission

Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins announced his resignation Monday through his Twitter account.

The tweet that was sent just after 3 p.m. simply said "Today 8/10/2015 I have delivered my resignation from Clark County Commission to @GovSandoval effective 3 p.m."

Collins was first elected to the commission in 2005. He was the commissioner for District B.

Before serving on the commission, he served in the Nevada State Assembly.

He has long been known as an outspoken member of the county commission.

According to an article in the Las Vegas Review-Journal in March, Collins expressed interest in running for mayor of the city of North Las Vegas.
