ELKO, Nev. (AP) — A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the conviction of the person or persons responsible for poaching a bull elk in northern Elko County.
Officials with the Humane Society of the United States and the Humane Society Wildlife Land Trust say they're offering the reward in hopes of securing leads for game wardens investigating the case.
Nevada Department of Wildlife officials believe the bull was killed sometime around March 21. The animal was shot in the head and found rotting near the Meadow Creek-Jarbidge Road, about 10 miles west of the Diamond A Ranch.
