Sin City Opera Brings Bernstein Opera To The Stage

 Leonard Bernstein is best known for giving “Romeo and Juliet” the gang-warfare treatment in his musical, “West Side Story.”

But five years before the Sharks and Jets rumbled onto stages, there was “Trouble in Tahiti.”  The one-act opera centers on the veiled unhappiness of a suburban married couple.  

Sin City Opera performs “Trouble in Tahiti” this weekend but it is with a twist. It is seen through the thematic lens of the TV series, “Mad Men.”

Sin City Opera’s Music Director, Jack Gaughan, and Artistic Director Skip Galla explain the Draper-ized version of Bernstein’s opera.
