Man Dead In Police Shooting At Northeast Las Vegas Apartment

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say a man was shot and killed by police during an overnight SWAT standoff at an apartment near an entrance to Nellis Air Force Base in northeast Las Vegas.

Police Officer Jesse Roybal says officers were called a little before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday to a disturbance at the Eagle Trace apartment complex on Craig Road at Las Vegas Boulevard North.

Officials say a man with a rifle fired several shots and SWAT officers were summoned.

The identity of the dead man wasn't immediately released, and there were no reports that police or bystanders were injured.
