Yesterday two Metro officers were ambushed at a pizza restaurant on Nellis Boulevard. The shooting continued as the assailants fled to the nearby Wal-Mart. A bystander was killed at the big box store before the two killers took their own lives as Metro officers closed in.
Initial reportssuggest that the assailants had targeted police because they wanted to launch a revolution to re-assert white supremacy. But how does the police department deal with the knowledge that its members can be subject to such random shootings? And what does it say about our community?
