Nevada Gambling Revenue Down 4 Percent In October

State officials say Nevada gambling revenue was down 4 percent in October compared with the same month a year ago.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board reported Wednesday that the state's casinos pulled in $914 million last month. Revenues are down 3 percent in the first four months of the fiscal year.

Las Vegas Strip gambling revenues of $787 million were down 6 percent year-over-year, while downtown Las Vegas revenues of $48 million were up 1 percent.

Reno casinos brought in $47 million in October, which was up 8 percent.

South Lake Tahoe revenues of $19 million were up a whopping 53 percent over last October.

The state collected $67 million in taxes based on the October winnings. That's up 9 percent compared to the same time last year.
