Two former Utah attorneys general appeared in court today in Salt Lake City as criminal defendants. Mark Shurtleff and John Swallow face multiple charges, including bribery and obstruction of justice.
Many of the charges stem from the relationships between the two men and St. George businessman Jeremy Johnson, who, prosecutors say, offered the men the use of a luxury jet, a houseboat, and homes he owned.
Swallow and Shurtleff have denied wrongdoing and say the investigation is politically motivated.
