Nevada Gaming Control Board Executive Director Is Resigning

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The chairwoman and executive director of the Nevada Gaming Control Board is resigning.

Sandra Douglass Morgan will be leaving her position as of Nov. 6. Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak says he will fill the seat in the near future.

Sisolak says Morgan is resigning to “pursue an exciting professional opportunity,” but did not elaborate.

He said Morgan’s “steady hand and unmatched leadership has been critical in guiding Nevada’s gaming industry through one of the most turbulent periods in its history.”

Morgan says she has enjoyed her two years of working for the gaming control board.
