On Saturday, Brent Douglas Cole allegedly shot a ranger from the BLM and an officer with the California Highway Patrol. The suspect posted a large number of anti-government posts on Facebook and other sites, and appears to belong to the Sovereign Citizens Movement. In addition, he also posted several articles supportive of the militia standoff at the Bundy Ranch in Bunkerville. So what is the link between Cole and anti-government groups? And is this crime another indication that politically-motivated violence against law enforcement officers is on the rise?
