Southern Nevada Debuts New Area Code

Some may have noticed that making local calls has changed. This past Saturday making calls within southern Nevada requires ten digits. This is to get people comfortable with dialing ten digits when the new area code, 725, goes into effect June 3rd. The Nevada Public Service Commission approved the change months ago. The 702 area code has been around since 1998.
