Clark County Commission Certifies Miller's Win District C

On Tuesday, the Clark County Commission certified Democrat Ross Miller’s 10-vote win over Republican Stavros Anthony in the commission District C race, which they had declined to do at an earlier meeting.

Registrar Joe Gloria had recommended a special election because the number of ballot irregularities found while counting the votes is greater than the margin of victory.

Anthony would have been the only Republican on the commission if he had won. He had sought a preliminary injunction to prevent the commissioners from considering to certify the contest, but a District Court judge ruled yesterday that they could.

Anthony now has the option of contesting the results in court.
