Numbers Show Democrats Made Slight Gains With Nevada Voters

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — New voter registration numbers show Democrats made slight gains in Nevada last month, maintaining their edge over Republicans.

 

Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske's office reported this week that the Democratic Party registered more than 5,300 voters in August, while Republicans registered about 3,600 voters.

About 4,400 people registered as nonpartisan voters.

 

Cegavske's office reports that Democrats constitute about 38% of active, registered voters while Republicans make up 33% and unaffiliated voters make up 22%.

The Independent American Party has 4% of the active registered voters, while the Libertarian Party has just over 1%.
