Four-term Democratic Assemblyman Tyrone Thompson has died suddenly at age 52.
Thompson passed away around 1:00 a.m. Saturday while receiving emergency care in Carson City. He reportedly became ill in the middle of the week.
Friends, colleagues, constituents and admirers are taking to social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter with remembrances and condolences.

In a statement from the Nevada Assembly Democrats, Speaker Jason Frierson said, "We are deeply saddened by Assemblyman Thompson’s sudden passing. He was well respected by his colleagues in the Legislature for his dedication and leadership. His warm smile and larger-than-life presence will truly be missed in our Assembly chamber."
