CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A veteran prosecutor who has handled several high-profile murder trials in recent years has been appointed as a state court judge in Las Vegas.
Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak announced Tuesday that he picked Jacqueline Bluth from three finalists for the Clark County District Court seat left open when Judge Elissa Cadish was elected to the Nevada Supreme Court.

Bluth is 37 and has been at the Clark County district attorney's office since 2007.
Sisolak noted that Bluth was born in Nevada and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, and her law degree at the Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
