Democrats in Nevada have filed a lawsuit that claims a petition to recall state Senator Nicole Cannizzaro falls short of what’s needed to trigger a recall election.
The lawsuit was filed yesterday in Clark County District Court, and says the petition is nearly 2,000 signatures short.
The complaint alleges that nearly 1,700 signatures come from people who are ineligible to sign and more than 2,200 signatures were properly revoked by the signers.
Three state senators have been the targets of a Republican-backed effort in the state to reclaim the state Senate majority.
