Another 61 Recreational Marijuana Dispensary Licenses Awarded In Nevada

This month Nevada awarded 61 conditional recreational marijuana dispensary licenses, included 31 in Clark County.

The increase is almost 100 percent, considering there are currently 65 dispensaries operating in the state.

The Nevada Department of Taxation declined to name the awardees until they receive a final state license after inspection, which could take up to a year.

Nevada significantly outdid initial projections in its first year of recreational sales, raking in nearly $425 million.

Some estimates put that number at over $1 billion by 2022.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the Las Vegas Medical Marijuana Association weren’t exactly pleased with the distributions, saying it should have been more widespread.

Dispensary licenses for Clark County sell on the secondary market for between $10 million and $20 million.
