The House and Senate have agreed to include language funding the reauthorization of the Lake Tahoe Restoration Act in a major water bill.
The Senate originally passed the act in September, which included $415 million in funding over 10 years.
While Congress still needs to vote on the larger water bill, the new language would keep the $415 million over seven years as part of the final version of the Water Resources Development act.

The funding would include allocations for wildfire prevention, environmental improvement programs, and stormwater projects.
U.S. Senators Dean Heller and Harry Reid of Nevada along with Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein of California sponsored the bill.
