RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno police plan to step up enforcement efforts against street racing over the next several weeks.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that the crackdown comes after police cited 16 spectators at an illegal motorcycle race last month.
A police department report show officers have issued over 150 citations and responded to about 700 calls relating to street racing in the past two years. Police spokesman Officer Tim Broadway says street racing has contributed to several deaths since 2014.

Police are asking for the public's help in locating races across the city.
Those caught participating in a street race or being a spectator face arrest and fines of up to $1,000.
