Today, the Southern Nevada Health District confirmed another case of measles in Clark County. This second case of the season comes exactly two months after a previous one on October 13, also in an out-of-state visitor to Harry Reid International Airport.
This time, officials say, the patient traveled into the airport's D1 gate early in the morning (12:30-2:30 a.m.) on December 13th. They then left the city using private transportation.
No other cases have been confirmed. However, measles symptoms — such as a rash, cough, and fever — can take between 7 and 21 days to appear.
The Health Department encourages anyone unvaccinated, who might’ve come into contact with the infected person, to reach out to their healthcare provider for next steps.
Clark County has not had a confirmed measles case in a resident since 2018.
