Fiorina To Campaign In Reno Following Las Vegas Debate

Presidential candidate Carly Fiorina is headed to Reno after the Republican debate in Las Vegas next month.

Fiorina is scheduled to headline an energy policy event Dec. 16 at the Atlantis casino. It's organized by conservative group Americans for Prosperity as part of their Road to Reform discussion series.

Americans for Prosperity is supported by the industrialist Koch brothers.

The group opposes President Barack Obama's Clean Power Plan, which aims to cut back on coal-fired power plants. AFP says the measure prevents states from innovating and can cause electricity prices to jump.

The group also opposes raising the gas tax. The federal fuel tax has remained flat at 18.4 cents for two decades.

Fiorina has said government has become a "crushing weight" preventing the U.S. from becoming an energy powerhouse.
