Close Southwestern Utah Election Races Still Being Decided

Even two days after election day, some races in southwestern Utah have still been left undecided.

The St. George Spectrum reports candidate Ed Baca, who has run for a seat on the St. George city council six times, might finally get to serve – he leads by fewer than 200 votes as of last night.

A seat on the Hurricane city council is also hotly contested, as incumbent councilmember Pam Humphries leading her challenger Ginger Hall by 49 votes.

As if that weren't close enough, Toquerville's city council has three candidates vying for two seats with just four votes separating first from last.

But the town of Virgin has them all beat – incumbent city councilmember Danyale Blackmore leads the race for her seat against Daniel Snyder by one vote.

Finalized election results are expected this week.
