"Shucked" is the Tony Award-winning musical comedy The Wall Street Journal calls “flat out hilarious!” The corn-fed, corn-bred American musical is (we're told) sure to satisfy your appetite for great musical theater. It's the tale of an unlikely hero, a lovable con man, and an a-maize-ing battle for the heart and soil of Cob County.
Maizy and Beau are getting hitched, but then the corn their small community depends on starts to die. The town needs answers. But who will dare to venture beyond the borders of Cob County?
Recommended for ages 10+. Note: There are also 2 p.m. matinee performances on Sat 6/6 and Sun 6/7.
Set in turn-of-the century New York City, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged "newsies." When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right!
Shows run May 29-30, June 3-6, and June 10-13.
