Hey, wanna buy a strip mall, cheap?

Every day you open the morning paper or fire up your browser and some real-estate guru is saying the bottom of the real estate market is in sight. As evidence of the latest round of hopeful bottom-is-in-sight sightings, we submit a nearly panic-inducingly GARGANTUAN auction of commercial real estate ghost malls and floundering retail complexes in Las Vegas -- billed as the "largest in history." From the New York Observer:

Strategically designed to lure the world's biggest real estate leaders-nearly all of whom, it turns out, are flying into Las Vegas later this week for the annual International Council of Shopping Centers RECon exposition-Auction.com has announced what the site describes as the "largest commercial real estate and note auction in U.S. history."
