Las Vegas horror fans know JT Mollner as the creative director of the long-running Freakling Brothers Horror Show Halloween haunts. International horror fans discovered him through his 2024 indie breakout film, Strange Darling.
And now, even more fans will meet him as the adapter of Stephen King’s classic story, The Long Walk, released in theaters on September 12.
In its first weekend, the movie made $11.5 million despite competing against a hugely anticipated installment of the Demon Slayer anime franchise and the final Downton Abbey film. It currently enjoys a 90 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer.
The Long Walk and Strange Darling solidify Mollner’s status as the most successful filmmaker to come out of Las Vegas. And his ascent may continue after his recently announced involvement with another King adaptation, this time for The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon.
