You're ready for summer, Nevada. But are your pets?

We take great pains to protect ourselves in the extreme heat of Nevada's summer — are we doing the same for our pets?

For this one-hour Wednesday edition of State of Nevada, we're joined by a veterinarian, a pet trainer, and a shelter director. And they're taking questions from our state's large community of pet companions.

What should you be doing differently in 100-plus degree weather to keep your finned, feathered and four-legged family members safe and happy? How hot is too hot to walk a dog on the sidewalk? How do we make sure our cat is drinking enough water? And what’s the protocol with pets and swimming pools?

Listeners with questions and comments can call 702-258-3552 or email son@knpr.org and get a response on air.
