Two months after northern Nevada’s first mental health crisis center opened in February, it closed. The reason? Federal budget cuts.

The closure was a shock. And it raised questions about the status of the state’s mental health care system when faced with federal funding cuts. As lawmakers in Washington D.C., look to reduce a $36 trillion national debt, how could Nevada’s mental health care services be affected?
